Les Franciliens âgés en perte d'autonomie : état des lieux et perspectives

En Ile-de-France, une personne sur six est âgée d'au moins 60 ans en 2006, soit près de 2 millions de personnes sur les 11,5 millions de Franciliens.
La très grande majorité demeure à domicile - la plupart en bonne santé et autonomes. Une étude de l’Observatoire Régional de Santé (ORS) d’Ile-de-France permet de mieux appréhender les données chiffrées et les perspectives pour les personnes âgées et les services d'aide à domicile.


Un certain nombre d'entre elles - d'âge avancé, évaluées à 100 000 parmi les 75 ans ou plus - a besoin d'aide à domicile pour effectuer certains actes de la vie quotidienne.


L'arrivée à des âges élevés de la génération du baby-boom et l'allongement de l'espérance de vie vont conduire à une hausse de cet effectif et à son vieillissement et donc à une hausse des besoins d'aide et d'assistance à domicile aux personnes âgées.


Afin que les Franciliens de 60 ans ou plus en perte d’autonomie puissent - aujourd’hui et demain - choisir en toute liberté de continuer à vivre à domicile ou de s’installer dans un établissement d’hébergement collectif, plusieurs actions ont été entreprises en Ile-de-France depuis les années 2000, à travers notamment la mise en place de l’Allocation personnalisée d’autonomie et le développement quantitatif et qualitatif de l’offre régionale de prise en charge, en particulier médico-sociale dans le cadre du Programme interdépartemental d’accompagnement des handicaps et de la perte d’autonomie (Priac).
